I’ve always been the one with no shoes on. Walking through the neighborhood - no shoes. I did it without thinking. Unconscious and carefree.
Barefoot hiking opens you up to a deeply personal connection to the earth around you. You feel your way around with your feet, appreciate each others downfalls, strengths and ‘soft spots’. Touch the earth and feel the earth touch back.

Everything feels new and unexplored and personal. If more people took off their shoes and went for a walk in the woods, more people would care about the planet they walk on. The more you walk, the more your feet will adapt to every environment. Get out there and do this. Go walk your dog with no shoes on. Run to the light post and back. Tell me this doesn’t improve your mood 100%.
